73. Nostalgia, originally uploaded by sunnyk129.

The Back Mountain Bowl (formerly Bonomo's) and the Rollaway Skating Rink were Friday night staples for me in the early to mid 80s. I don't recall it having a bar back then. I think there was just a snack bar--and not a very good one. Frozen pizza heated in a toaster oven, I believe, soft pretzels, soda and a few other snacks. Oh well it was the food we were there for it was the company.

Comments:
Are you talking about Bonomo's Bowling Center in Dallas on the highway to Harvey's Lake? Food was better. We used to make home-made pizza, ( dough, sauce and real pizza oven with a soda fountain. Also made burgers and milk shakes ). John Kalafsky

Nostalgia indeed -- I have just had the best time trawling your blog after tracing an image (of Main St Dallas) here from Facebook. It's amazing how much I recognize -- even names in comments! Thanks so much for this. Hope you keep on posting.

Hi John, yes I'm talking Bonomo's--and I'm sorry to say that I must have missed out on the time when the food was great. I was actually there early to mid 80s mostly. No offense meant to you, my memories are of old pretzels....I'm sure at some point the food was wonderful!
