Invention, Illustration Friday...Let Go

Invention, Illustration Friday.

As I thought about the topic this week, I wondered what I would invent if I could invent whatever I wanted. I decided it would be something that I (and many other people) really need. I settled on something to take my worries away.

It's quite simple really. I invented a worry bag to take away all my troubles.

As I drifted off to sleep last night, I imagined myself putting all my worries into a little sack. I saw myself tying that sack up to a balloon, and then I released all my worries to a higher power. I watched as they floated up and disappeared. It was as simple as just letting them go.

I also thought about how wonderful it would be to share this invention with everyone else. I'd invite everyone to send me their worries, then I would pack them up and let them go, and everyone could be worry free.

If it was only that simple...but, maybe it is.

Maybe you can get yourself a real balloon and slip of paper with the worries on it and make this happen?
At a dollar or so it sure is affordable therapy!

Kelly - I gave Dan a "burden basket" I purchased at a Native American art gallery. It was small, and designed to be hung on one's front door so you could put your worries inside it upon arriving home. Not sure where it went to nowadays, but your post reminded me of that. Why not make your own burden basket or bag or vase or box? Why not design some pretty ones and sell 'em? :)

Oh, and gr reminded me of another way to symbolically get rid of worries (probabally a bit better for the environment too--sending too many balloons up might cause some litter):

Write your worries on slips of papers and burn them away in a campfire, or a fireplace, woodburning stove, or even in a big ole pot (please be very careful though!) Imagine your worries going away as the fire burns them up.

OOps, I wrote a comment before the gr one, but I think it got lost (maybe it went POOF with my worries).

    Here's a repeat:

robertc: I love to make people smile, glad I could help!

shelagh: send me your worries, and I'll attach them to the end of my balloon with mine, and send them all away!
